What is podcasting?
Basically, podcasting is the relatively new phenomenon of publishing media files (like mp3’s) so that they are available for download to anybody with a computer and Internet access. Think of them like radio programs for your computer. These radio programs or podcasts can then be listened to on your computer or downloaded into any mp3 device, like an iPod. That means you can have your favorite podcasts to listen to anytime, anywhere! In our case we give you a couple of options. One option is to download the files individually for immediate listening or transferring to your mp3 player. Or you can subscribe to the rss feed.
What is an rss feed?
RSS or Really Simple Syndication is used to distribute or syndicate podcasts. To subscribe to a podcast, you need a podcast “receiver” or “catcher” (such as iTunes, Juice Receiver, or Doppler) that automatically downloads the latest files. The recently released Internet Explorer 7 will also allow you to subscribe to RSS feeds. These three happen to be free. There are others out there as well. RSS feeds can also be used to distribute other types of Internet content. Graphically, the availability of feeds are often shown with a box similar to this

Board Highlights
This podcast is designed to be a brief rundown of actions taken by the Mission CISD Board of Trustees during their meetings. It is updated after each meeting in which official actions are taken by the board.
