Mission, Texas- Mission CISD (Consolidated Independent School District) teachers and students have a new organization on their side. The Education Foundation (EF) of Mission CISD has officially been formed and is quickly getting off the ground. Officials have received notification from the Federal Government stating it has earned the status of an official public charity. The members of the EF of Mission CISD wasted no time, and have quickly started planning the group’s first fundraising event in the form of a golf tournament.
The EF of Mission CISD will work towards raising money to support district initiatives and students through things like, mini teacher grants, student scholarships, etc.
The current members of the EF of Mission CISD Board include: Gustavo Martinez, president; Ricardo Garza, vice president; Lori Lopez, treasurer; Hiram Burguete, director; Patricia O’Caña-Olivarez, director; Candy Martinez, director; Dr. Sonia M. Treviño, director; Raquel Ramos, director; Carlos Trevino, director; Dr. Ricado López, ex officio.
The EF of Mission CISD’s First Annual Superintendent’s Golf Tournament will be held on Friday, November 6, 2015, at the Shary Municipal Golf Course. Registration that day will begin at 11:00 a.m. with a shotgun start planned for 12:00 p.m. The early registration fees are $250 for a team of three. Late registration (after October 23) will be $275 per team of three. The registration fees include greens fees, ½ cart, drinks, and food. The format will be a three person Florida scramble.
Sponsorship opportunities for the golf tournament are available; beginning at $2,500 for a platinum level sponsorship. This includes three golf team of three, two hole sponsors, one prominent flag, and a mulligan package. A gold sponsorship will include two teams of three, one hole sponsor, one prominent flag, and a mulligan package, at a price of $1,500. A silver level sponsorship ($1,000) includes one golf team of three, one hole sponsor, and a mulligan package. Hole sponsorships are available for $200.
