MHS students earn honors at recent visual arts competition; one advancing to state

 

            Mission, Texas- Mission High School (MHS) students recently earn quite a few honors at the area Texas Art Education Association (TAEA) Visual Arts Scholastic Event (VASE). A total of 24 medals were earned by MHS students. Fifteen of the students received a perfect score on their art pieces by the judges.

            Jose Gomez’s entries earned him two medals, with one of his entries advancing to the state VASE competition to be held in San Antonio, Texas in April.

            Other MHS students earning medals for their artwork include: Aaron Solis, division 4, one medal; Lenny Blanco, division 4, one medal; Sam Garza, division 4, two medals; Jesus Duarte, division 2, one medal; Stephanie Paez, division 3, two medals; Rebecca Rendon, division 2, two medals; Valeria Lopez, division 2, two medals; Priscilla Reyes, division 1, one medal; Guadalupe Rodriguez, division 2, two medals; Victoria Olvera, division 1, two medals; Fernanda Hernandez, division 2, two medals; Shari Gomez, division 1, one medal; Keila Vazquez, division 3, one medal; Juan Alonzo, division 4, one medal; Jose Gomez, division 4, two medals, advancing to state.
