Mission CISD announces District Staff Member of the Year

            Mission, Texas- Mission CISD has announced the name of its District Staff Member of the Year. The announcement was made during a special luncheon honoring the Staff Members of the Year from each of the district’s campuses and main building/departments. This is the second year the district has honored hourly-paid employees through a Staff Member of the year recognition program.

            The Mission CISD Staff Member of the Year is Rolando Ponce, an activity clerk at Cantu Elementary School. He has been with the district for 16 years.

            Earlier this spring each Mission CISD campus and building went through a process to select an hourly-paid employee to recognize as a Staff Member of the Year. Those individuals were then nominated for the district-level honor. The nominations were reviewed and scored by a panel of judges to select the district honoree. Criteria used in the judging process included: the individual’s influences on their worksite, attitude, cooperation, attendance, creativity, willingness to “go the extra mile.”

Farias, principal’s secretary, Castro Elementary School; Norma Garza, instructional aide, Cavazos Elementary School; Dalila Cervantes, activity clerk, Escobar/Rios Elementary School; Ninfa Salinas, Special Education resource aide, Leal Elementary School; Dolores Cavazos, principal’s secretary, Marcell Elementary School; Leticia Iglesias, student data management clerk, Midkiff Elementary School; Javier Ruiz, principal’s secretary, Mims Elementary School; Carmen Garza, paraprofessional, Newcomers Academy; Victoria Corona, instructional aide, O’Grady Elementary School; Celso Selosa, custodian, Pearson Elementary School; Maricela Charles, student data management clerk, Salinas Elementary School; Joselias Hinojosa, campus technician, Waitz Elementary School; Melida Flores, counselor’s secretary, Alton Memorial Jr. High School; Juan C.
