Alton Elementary uses grant to help build leaders in all students

Mission, Texas- Alton Elementary School is taking advantage of a special grant to help encourage all the students at the campus to become leaders. Alton Elementary is one of 140 schools selected out of 240 applicants, internationally, to earn a grant from the I am a Leader Foundation, funded by Panda Express.

The grant is funded for three years which allows schools to fully develop staff, students, and their community in the 7 Habits of Happy Kids through a process called The Leader in Me by Franklin Covey.

Principal Adan Ramirez said this will allow them to teach 21st century leadership and life skills to their students while also creating a culture of student empowerment based on the idea that every child can be a leader.
