Mission CISD athletes to be honored at 2017 All Valley Sports Awards Banquet

Mission CISD will be at the forefront of honorees at the 2017 All Valley Sports Awards Banquet presented by RGV Sports.com this Saturday, June 10. Veterans Memorial High School (VMHS) is up for five awards and Mission High School’s Guadalupe Rodriguez is a finalist Boys Wrestler of the Year.

At VMHS, 146 athletes had perfect attendance this week for personal conditioning, with 240 athletes in today’s training. This attendance demonstrates the students’ commitment to developing in their sport and supporting the team, helping the school earn the Sub-6A Program of the Year finalist designation. Also being recognized from VMHS, will be Jackie Howell as Sub-6A Female Athlete of the Year finalist, Noel Vela as Baseball Player of the Year finalist, and Diego Hernandez as the Sub-6A Male Athlete of the Year finalist, and Football Player of the Year finalist.

Only the Valley’s best and brightest varsity athletes, teams and coaches will be honored at the banquet. This year’s event will feature former San Antonio Spurs and Houston Rockets standout Robert Horry as the Keynote Speaker.
