VMHS Harlequins present Fiddler on the Roof

Mission, Texas- The Veterans Memorial High School (VMHS) Harlequins are excited to present “Fiddler on the Roof” for this year’s annual play. The popular musical will be staged November 30, and December 1, 2, 7, 8, 9 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the VMHS front office weekdays 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., or at the VMHS Theater door the night of the show. Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for adults.

The VMHS Harlequins originally staged Fiddler on the Roof in 2003 in the campus gymnasium and marked a return of theater productions to the school. At that time, Superintendent Jackie F. Dyer was so impressed with the work of the Harlequins, he arranged to rent the McAllen Civic Center Auditorium for a special performances of the play. This also helped build community support for the construction of dedicated performing arts theaters at both VMHS and Mission High School. When the theater building at VMHS was completed, the first play performed in the new facility was Fiddler on the Roof. So this play holds a special place in the hearts of students, past and present, who have been a part of the Harlequins.
