Mission CISD Hosts Second Annual Mission District Showcase: A Celebration of College and Career Readiness

APRIL 8, 2024 (MISSION, TEXAS) – Mission Consolidated Independent School District (CISD) hosted the second annual Mission District Showcase.

The event, designed to champion student success through college and career readiness initiatives, welcomed throngs of attendees from across the Mission community.

Representing all 22 Mission CISD campuses, the showcase offered an array of activities for guests, including opportunities to learn more about Mission CISD student clubs, witness student performances, and the opportunity to register for the upcoming school year.

Reflecting on the significance of the event, Mission CISD student, Jose Salinas, said the event is one he looks forward to every year.

“It’s great to have the opportunity to recruit people to Mission High School and our folklorico group,” Salinas said.

The Mission District Showcase was made possible through partnerships with the City of Mission.

Dr. Carol G. Perez, Superintendent of Schools at Mission CISD, expressed gratitude to city organizations for their invaluable support.

"We extend our sincerest appreciation to the City of Mission, Mayor Norie Gonzalez Garza, and the City Commission for granting us the privilege of gathering today at the Leo Pena Placita Park," Perez said.

"Our heartfelt thanks also go to the dedicated City Parks and Rec staff, as well as the City of Mission Fire and Police Departments, for their unwavering assistance in bringing this event to fruition."
