Mission CISD Honors Communications Team During National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week

MISSION, TEXAS (April 16, 2024) - This week, as part of National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week (NPSTW), Mission Consolidated Independent School District (CISD) is shining a spotlight on the vital role played by its communications staff. The district celebrates the heroes behind the scenes who ensure the safety and security of students and staff across numerous campuses.

The Communications Center, operated by a crew leader along with four communication specialists, is crucial to the district's safety operations. They are tasked with monitoring an expansive network of over 1,500 cameras spread across 22 school campuses and seven additional facility buildings.

This team plays a pivotal role in day-to-day security by maintaining constant communication with on-ground security staff and ensuring rapid coordination with first responders during emergencies. Their surveillance and quick response capabilities form the backbone of the district’s efforts to create a secure learning environment for everyone.

National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week marks a time to acknowledge and appreciate the work of telecommunicators like those at Mission CISD, who perform critical tasks behind the scenes to safeguard communities across the nation.
