MISSION, TEXAS (JUNE 19, 2025) – The Mission Consolidated Independent School District (CISD) Board of Trustees has approved a comprehensive compensation plan for the 2025-2026 school year that continues to ensure district salaries remain at or above market values.
According to a recent salary study conducted by Teachers of Tomorrow, the median starting salary for a new teacher in Texas is $34,390, and the median teacher average salary is $57,761.
In comparison, Mission CISD has set its starting salary for teachers with zero years of experience at $59,300, positioning the district well above the median salary levels. Additionally, the district offers a highly competitive salary scale, with a maximum teacher salary reaching $71,220.
The newly approved compensation plan includes adjustments to all other salary schedules. Instructional assistants, clerical staff, technical personnel, auxiliary employees, and administrative employees will receive a 2.5% pay increase of midpoint.
Dr. Cris Valdez, Superintendent of Schools for Mission CISD, emphasized the significance of the compensation plan in fostering job satisfaction among district employees.
“When our educators and staff know they are truly valued, it reflects everything they do for our students,” Valdez said. “Our focus is to create an environment where everyone feels supported, grows professionally, and is proud to be part of the Mission CISD family.”
The Board of Trustees approved the district compensation plan during their meeting on June 18, 2025.
The new compensation plan will go into effect for the 2025-2026 school year, setting the stage for another year of excellence, collaboration, and student-centered growth.
