Education Foundation of Mission CISD Supports Families with Back-to-School Shopping

MISSION, TEXAS – The Education Foundation of Mission CISD made back-to-school preparations a little easier for local families today by providing a $125 spending budget per child to purchase clothing and school supplies at Target.

The initiative ensured students could begin the new school year with fresh outfits and the tools they need to learn with confidence—removing a financial burden for many parents and guardians.

A Commitment to Opportunity

The support reflects the Foundation’s ongoing mission to create the best possible opportunities for students across the district.

“We are honored to help our families,” said Dr. Cris Valdez, Superintendent of Schools. “Our dream is for all children to have the best opportunities for success—and this is just one of the ways we’re working to make that dream a reality.”

“This is what we do—this is why the Education Foundation exists,” said Hiram Burguete, director with the Education Foundation. “We’re here to lift our students up and make sure they have what they need to shine.”

A Stronger Community, One Student at a Time

The Education Foundation of Mission CISD continues to invest in students’ futures by providing resources, scholarships, and other assistance programs that uplift the entire community. Efforts like today’s shopping event are a tangible reminder that, when a community comes together, children thrive.
