Young runners compete in cross country meet

 

                Mission, Texas- As a part of its partnership with the Boys and Girls Club of Mission, Mission CISD (Consolidated Independent School Disrict) students recently took advantage of a cross country meet designed for younger runners.

                Sixth grade teams and the elementary teams each competed in one-mile events.

                The results for the sixth grade boys teams were: R. Cantu Jr. High School, first; Mission Jr. High School, second; K. White Jr. High School, third; Alton Memorial Jr. High School, fourth. In the girls competition, K. White Jr. High School came in first with Alton Memorial Jr. High School coming in second.

                The top six teams for the elementary boys competition were: Mims Elementary School, first; O’Grady Elementary School, second; Salinas Elementary School, third; Cantu Elementary School, fourth; Leal Elementary School, fifth; Alton Elementary School, sixth.

                The top six teams for the elementary girls competition were: Leal Elementary School, first; Mims Elementary School, second; Salinas Elementary School, third; O’Grady Elementary School, fourth; Cantu Elementary School, fifth; Waitz Elementary School, sixth.

                The next events being held through the Boys and Girls Club of Mission include a sixth grade girls basketball tournament on December 10, and an elementary flag football tournament on December 12.
