MHS FBLA students advance to state competitions

 

            Mission, Texas- The Mission High School (MHS) Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter has eight students who placed high enough at recent area competitions to advance to the Texas FBLA State Leadership Conference to be held in Houston, Texas in early March.

            The students and their areas of competition are: Rebeca Gomez, public speaking II; Yvette Cazares, word processing; Dante Rodriguez, spreadsheet applications; Gerardo Hernandez, database design and applications; Marco Silva, accounting I; Jay Reta-Cordoba, computer problem solving; Pedro Silva, business communications; Diego Bustillos, health care administration.

            In addition to their competitions, students will attend a variety of workshops, exhibits, a general session, voting and recognition sessions, a social, and the installation of state officers and awards. The theme for this year’s state conference is Reaching New Heights.

            FBLA is a national organization for high school students preparing for careers in business occupations.
