The Alton Memorial Junior High School Band enjoyed a very busy and successful year.
The “Falcon” Marching Band placed 1st at the Mission Citrus Parade; the Symphonic Band earned a Division 1 “Superior” rating in concert performance, as well as a 3rd place Grand Champion award at the Texas Music Festival, and a Division 1 “Superior” rating in sight-reading at the Region 15 UIL Concert & Sight-Reading Evaluation. Several students auditioned and qualified for the Mission Consolidated Independent School District (MCISD) All-City Band, and the Region 15 Middle School All-Region Band. A total of 61 Division 1 ‘Superior” rating medals were earned at the MCISD Solo & Ensemble Contest.
