RCJH has the district’s first Platinum Reader on the first day of school

Mission, Texas- The first student in Mission Consolidated Independent School District to break the million-word mark this school year in the Accelerated Reader (AR) program wasted no time in doing so. Kimberly Espinosa, an eighth grader at R. Cantu Jr. High School (RCJH) became the district’s first Platinum level reader on the first day of school. She did plenty of reading over the summer and then wasted no time in taking AR tests on the books she completed during the break. Based on her exam results, she was credited with reading 1,212,454 words, with basically the entire school year yet to go.

Espinosa says she loves to read dystopian fiction from authors like Suzanne Collins and Veronica Roth. However her absolute favorite book so far has been Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo.
