Mission, Texas- The Veterans Memorial High School (VMHS) Patriot Tennis Team is doing something no other VMHS tennis team has done before. They have won a Bi-District Championship by defeating last year’s champs, the Brownsville Veterans Memorial High School team.
The Patriot Tennis Team is now advancing into the playoffs. They will take on Corpus Christi Ray High School on Thursday, October 19, at the Kingsville High School tennis courts.
The members of the Patriot Tennis Team are: Libby McCoy, Helaina Olvera, Linzy Castillo, Kassandra Lerma, Natalia Flores, Gina Trevino, Gisselle Low, Jackie Howell, Ronnie Cantu, Imelda Munoz, Michael Howell, Marcos Galvan, Sebastian Galvan, Kevin Rubio, Joshua Pinon, Armando Amaya, Robert Low. Their coaches are: Rosario Palacios, head coach; and Maria Barreiro, assistant coach.
