MCISD Hosts and Incredible Motor Activities Challenge Day!

Mission CISD Special Education Department under the direction of Tahnee Netro, hosted the 6th Annual “Motor Activities Challenge Day” with the fascinating theme of “Training to be Incredible!" Students had incredible fun at all the activity stations.

Over 100 students from our specialized support units participated in this challenge day. This event is designed to develop young participants’ motor skills through fun-filled tasks and recreation activities geared to participants’ ability levels. Through sports, our students see themselves for their abilities and become confident and empowered by their accomplishments.

“Thank you to all the Mission CISD employees who made this event possible and a special thank you to the parents, families, and friends who showed up today to cheer on our students,” said Lydia Cremar, MCISD Adapted PE Teacher, CAPE/Special Olympics Coach. The activities help to develop a young participant’s motor skills through fun-filled tasks such as pushing or kicking a ball, jumping in a colorful ball pit, or striking a suspended ball.”

The students displayed awesome skills with much joy and were rewarded with medals at the end of the event. Watching these students participate in sport skills and observing their positive emotions was just amazing!

This is the 6th consecutive year our district has held this event and it would not be possible without the continued support of the following individuals or organizations:
