Mission Collegiate High School gets its first AP Scholars

Mission Collegiate High School (MCHS) is now in its third year of existence and consists of freshmen, sophomores, and juniors. Next year, the school will expand to include its first senior class. Each year has brought a few new firsts for the school. This year begins with its first set of students who have earned designation as AP Scholars.

The designation of AP Scholar is granted to student ho receive scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP (Advanced Placement) exams.

The College Board’s AP Program provides motivated and academically prepared students with the opportunity to take rigorous, college-level courses while still in high school, and to earn college credit, advanced placement, or both for successful performance on the AP exams. The College Board recognizes several levels of achievement based on students’ performances on AP exams.

The three students at MCHS are all juniors, who took their AP exams last year as sophomores. They are (left to right): Joselyne Rodriguez, Christian Navejar, Bianca Rodriguez.
