Mission CISD and Mission Boys & Girls Club hold elementary volleyball tournament

Mission CISD (Consolidated Independent School District) regularly partners with the Mission Boys and Girls Club to hold special athletic tournaments and competitions as a way to help foster an active lifestyle and an interest in athletics. The most recent event was a volleyball tournament for our elementary schools that was held on October 18. Each district elementary school fielded a team.
In the Gold Division Mims Elementary School team came in first place. Second place went to Midkiff Elementary School. Third place went to Pearson Elementary School. Bryan Elementary School was fourth. O’Grady Elementary School placed fifth.
In the Silver Division the rankings were as follows: Alton Elementary School, first; Escobar/Rios Elementary School, second; Marcell Elementary School, third; Castro Elementary School, fourth; Cavazos Elementary School, fifth.
In the Bronze Division the rankings were as follows: Leal Elementary School, first; and three schools in a tie for second place, Salinas Elementary School, Cantu Elementary School, Waitz Elementary School.
The next elementary school event on the calendar will be a cross country meet that is scheduled for November 15 at Veterans Memorial High School. This event will be open to the elementary grades and sixth grade. Participants will run one mile.
