MHS DECA students qualify for state competition

                A total of 14 Mission High School (MHS) DECA students have qualified to advance to the DECA State Career Development Conference. The students earned the advancement to state competitions based upon their performance in the DECA District 1 competition in the areas of Marketing, Finance, Accounting, Management, and Hospitality. The state competitions are scheduled for February in Dallas, Texas.

                The students who are advancing to DECA state are: Christopher Barbozo, Sports and Entertainment Series; Melissa Carrillo, Stephanie Galaviz, Jeremiah Gutierrez, Fashion Merchandising Promotional Plan; Zaldrak Cavazos, Automotive Services; Halberto Garza and Gema Garcia, Marketing Communications; Susana Martinez, Karla Fraga, Vanessa Gonzalez, Rebeca Urbina, Entrepreneurship Innovation Plan; Joanna Montantes, Daniella Gonzalez, Samantha Alaniz, Sports and Entertainment Operational Research.

                MHS DECA member, Jeremiah Gutierrez also obtained the position of DECA District 1 vice president.
