VMHS BPA students advance to state competitions

               Mission, Texas-  A total of 14 Veterans Memorial High School (VMHS) student have qualified to advance to state Business Professionals of America (BPA) competitions. They qualified based upon their performance at the recent BPA Regional Leadership Conference. The state competition will be held in Dallas, Texas in early March.

                The following students are advancing to state competitions: Paula Brown, legal office procedures; Bryana Cantu, presentation management; Liliana Carbajal, advanced accounting and parliamentary team; Henry Davis III, financial analyst team; Feliciano Escobedo, financial analyst team; Hector Iglesias, java; Edward Moreno, graphic design; Jeselle Farias, computer animation team; Kendra Garcia, parliamentary team; Fernando Gonzalez, parliamentary team; Michelle Mata, computer animation team; Rene Olivarez, economic research-individual and parliamentary team; Lesley Quintanilla, parliamentary team; Alexandria Quintero, parliamentary team.    

These MHS BPA chapter members will join over 2,700 other conference delegates from across the state to participate in state level business skill competitions, general sessions, and the state officer candidate campaigns and elections.

                BPA is a national organization for middle school, high school, and college students preparing for career in business and office occupations. The organization’s activities and programs complement classroom instruction by giving students practical experience through application of the skills learned at school.
