Voter Approval Tax Ratification Election

On November 7, 2023, the Mission Consolidated Independent School District (MCISD) will conduct a Voter Approval Tax Ratification Election (VATRE). This election seeks to secure supplementary funding for instruction and compensation, contingent upon the approval of voters.

The proposed VATRE entails transferring 0.0317 pennies from the Interest and Sinking (I&S) tax rate to the Maintenance and Operations (M&O) tax rate. This reallocation is designed to generate approximately $2.7 million in additional state and local funding while maintaining the existing tax rate at $1.1130.
The Three Facts
  1. The tax rate will not increase. The tax rate will remain at $1.1130 per $100 property valuation.
  2. The VATRE will generate approximately $2.7 million in additional state and local funding for instruction and compensation.
  3. Election Day is November 7, 2023.
