Veterans Memorial HS Mariachi Earns Superior Division 1 Rating

Veterans Memorial High School's Mariachi Toros de Plata traveled to San Antonio's Southwest High School for the 2017 State UIL Mariachi Contest. The contest is judged on tone, technique, and musicianship; the group earned a Superior Division 1 Rating. Only six of the 23 Mariachis from session 1 were awarded a Superior Rating.

Thank you to all who support our wonderful students in all their endeavors and provide a quality environment in which to be successful. It is only in this kind of environment that students can truly Unlock Their Dreams.

Congrats to our phenomenal principals, Fidel Garza at Veterans Memorial High School and Orlando Farias at Mission Collegiate High School; and thank you to their respective staffs and student bodies for all the well wishes and support. The mariachi is under the direction of Director Francisco Vela.
