Mission Ballers All-Stars will take it to the court at Harlem Globetrotters exhibition

The Mission Ballers All-Stars are getting the chance of a lifetime when they meet the Harlem Globetrotters. The spectacular team of athletes will visit the Rio Grande Valley and will have their exhibition at the Bert Ogden Arena on Saturday, March 16, 2019. They have asked the Mission Ballers All-Stars to perform at halftime during their scheduled visit.

The team’s representative reached out to Mission CISD based on a video they had seen of our students and their ball handling skills. The representative went as far as calling them, “a mini-me” version of the Harlem Globetrotters. This is one of the highest compliments the All-Stars have received and if you have not seen them, this is a great time to catch them in action.

According to Coach Martina Carrillo (PE/Health Coordinator), at a recent practice she asked the All-Stars if they knew about or had seen the Harlem Globetrotters perform and not one single hand was raised. The All-Stars may not know who the Harlem Globetrotters are but after next Saturday, they certainly will know them after their Meet and Greet session.

The students and coaches will have a Meet and Greet with the world-playing team in addition to having a picture taken during halftime. This will be a memory that will last a lifetime for the students.

The Mission Ballers program has been in existence for the last two years and it is available for elementary students. For more information on the Mission Ballers program, please contact Coach Martina Carrillo at (956) 323-5428.
