MHS FBLA recognized at State Leadership Conference

Mission HS FBLA traveled to Houston's Hyatt Regency to participate in the Texas Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) State Leadership Conference on March 7 – 9, 2019. The MHS FBLA was recognized for having the highest March of Dimes Donation ($100) in Area 4 and for their yearly Endowment Fund Donation ($19) since 1983. MHS student Luis Muñoz was recognized as the Who’s Who in Texas FBLA as well as Luis Muñoz and Leslie C. Rivera for being voting delegates for the Area VP race and State Officers’ Election.

 

The Awards Ceremony honored Ashmin Torres (3rd place in Spreadsheet Applications), Jizzel Maldonado (Alternate in Advertising), and Aaron Relko (Alternate in Business Calculations).  Torres qualifies for the FBLA National Leadership Conference and will be held in San Antonio, Texas on June 27 – July 3, 2019.

 

Mr. O’caña, MHS Business Education teacher, was also recognized for his 39 years of service to the Texas FBLA. He was honored during the Opening Session of the conference. He also chaired the Impromptu Speaking event during the morning A session and afternoon finals session.

 

Members participated in many activities throughout the conference. They were able to view exhibits, campaign booths, and attended workshops. They also had the opportunity to attend a

Houston Rockets game.
