Mission CISD has several athletes that have been nominated for various prestigious distinctions and the recipients will be announced on June 13, 2019 at the All Valley Sports Awards Banquet. The banquet is set to start at 6 p.m. at Mario’s Banquet and Conference Center in Mission, Texas.
The nominees for All Valley Sports Awards are as follows:
Volleyball Player of the Year – Jackie Howell (VMHS)
Football Player of the Year – Landry Gilpin (VMHS)
Girls Golfer of the Year – Mia Lerma (MHS)
Sub-6A Female Athlete of the Year- Jackie Howell (VMHS)
Sub-6A Male Athlete of the Year- Landry Gilpin (VMHS)
Sub-6A Girls Team of the Year- Mission Veterans Volleyball
Sub-6A Boys Team of the Year- Mission Veterans Football
The banquet is being hosted by RGVSports.com and AIM Media Texas in conjunction with the RGV Sports Hall of Fame. A total of 33 awards will be presented to athletes, coaches and teams across all 12 UIL sports.
The renowned Tom Landry Award of Excellence will honor a student athlete for outstanding achievements and will also be announced at the banquet. In addition, the Dallas Cowboys great Randy White, a Super Bowl MVP and NFL Hall of Famer, will be the guest speaker.
