District Staff Member of the Year Announced
Mission, Texas- For one Mission Consolidated Independent School District (CISD) employee at Leal Elementary School of Technology and Engineering, today was anything but a regular work day. Cristian Gallardo, the campus computer technician, got a surprise visit by superintendent Dr. Carol G. Perez and several district administrators to let him know he has been selected as the 2021 Mission CISD District Staff Member of the Year.
Each Mission CISD campus/building selected a paraprofessional/hourly employee to honor as its Staff Member of the Year. Those individuals are recognized for their positive influence on their worksites, colleagues, people they serve, and for initiative in getting things completed. Each campus/building Staff Member of the Year was nominated for the District award. A panel of campus and district administrators reviews and scores each nomination to come up with a district honoree.
Gallardo is relatively new to his position, having started in October 2020, but quickly becoming an indispensable member of the Leal team. Gallardo was presented with a special award, a yard sign, and a $500 check from the Education Foundation of Mission CISD.
