Derick is a 3rd grade student who was named the first Platinum Reader at Bryan Elementary this year. He enjoys reading, basketball training with Supremacy Academy and Champion Academy Jiu-jitsu. His ultimate career goal is to become a scientist so he could invent medicines that will help people live longer lives. Derick is the son of Lori Ann Gonzalez and Erik Lopez.
