Mission High School SkillsUSA students win Bronze Medals at State Finals

Mission High School SkillsUSA Parliamentary Procedure team won 3rd place in the State Finals in Chapter Business Procedure. Each student earned a Bronze Medal and a team plaque for their outstanding performance at the State Contest. The State SkillsUSA Leadership Conference was held in Corpus Christi, TX from March 30th through April 3rd. This was the first year this group of students joined the SkillsUSA Chapter and participated in this competitive event. 


The students mastered correct parliamentary procedure found in the latest edition of Roberts’s Rules of Order. They demonstrated excellent public speaking skills, decision making skills, verbal, and nonverbal communication skills. The team also learned all the meeting rules and how to conduct a professional and organized business meeting in the real world. Team Members: Jaime Calderon (President), Jorge Salinas (Vice President), Alessandra Serda (Secretary), Iris Torres (Treasurer), Danny Garza (Reporter), Kevin Calderon (Parliamentarian), and Benito Garza (Advisor).
