MHS quarterback set to join the Wildcats at Baker University

Mission High School senior and Eagles quarterback, Kevin Guerra, signed on the dotted line to attend Baker University in Baldwin City, Kansas. He is set to take the gridiron with the Wildcats this fall. Guerra will be pursuing a degree in business management while at the university and aspires to become a game warden.

“Playing football is something that I am excited about and getting the opportunity to continue to play at the next level makes me happy,” states Kevin Guerra. “I am thankful for all the support that I have received from my parents, family, friends, players and coaches.”

Guerra is a District 31-A first team member and The Monitor’s 2021 All-Area Football first-team quarterback. He has a total of 1,678 passing yards, 21 passing touchdowns and four interceptions. He also finished as a leading rusher at 747 yards and 17 rushing touchdowns.

“The manner in which he handled himself in a new school and then took on a leadership role as quarterback for the team is a huge deal. His leadership skills have earned him the opportunity to get to go play at the collegiate level,” states Football Head Coach Danny Longoria.  “Baker is getting a great leader and someone who wants to push the program forward.”

Kevin looks forward to playing football with the Wildcats. He is the son of Michelle Molina and Sergio Guerra
