Mission, Texas- Three Veterans Memorial High School (VMHS) students who competed in the recent Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) Region 15 All-Region Orchestra auditions have either earned a seat in the All-Region Orchestra and/or are advancing to the next level of competitions.
Sarah Martinez-Salinas and David Leal (pictured left to right) earned positions in the TMEA All-Region Orchestra. Martinez-Salinas and Grecia Mayorga (not pictured), will advance to the Area auditions to be held in January to compete for a chance to become a Texas All-State Musician.
When the TMEA Region 15 All-Region Orchestra performs together in November, Leal will have the 1st chair Bb Clarinet position, while Martinez-Salinas will have the 3rd chair trumpet position.
The All-Region Orchestra will perform on Saturday, November 12, at McAllen High School. The time has not been announced as of yet. This brings together musicians from around the Rio Grande Valley under the direction of esteemed conductors from across the country.
