Mission High School One Act Play team advances to Bi-District competition

Mission, Texas - The Mission High School (MHS) UIL One Act Play Team is advancing out of the district level and into the Bi-District competition. The MHS ENCORE Theatre performed “The Honorable Urashima Taro”. Their performance earned them a 1st place overall ranking in the competition. 

In addition to advancing to the Bi-District finals, several of the MHS ENCORE Theatre students earned special acting accolades as follows: 

Nicolas Ortiz, Honorable Mention; Bryana Guerra, All-Star Cast; Christian Guzman, All-Star Cast; and Diego Garza, Best Performer

Mr. Adrian Guerrero, Theater Arts Teacher at Mission High School, has high hopes going into the next phase of the competition. “We are excited to continue the journey to build our students.” said Mr. Guerrero. “We are proud of our students for all their hard work. We would also like to thank Mission High School Principal, Mr. Mejia for all his support.”

The MHS Encore Theatre One Act Play Team is scheduled to perform at the Bi-District Finals on Tuesday and Wednesday, March 21-22nd at the Harlingen Performing Arts Center.
