MHS athlete fulfills lifelong journey to play baseball at the collegiate level

Mission, Texas- Mission High School athlete,  Lucio “Tony” Fuentes, has officially signed his letter of intent to attend Arlington Baptist University. He will be headed to the university this fall to prepare for his first season as a Patriots baseball player.

 

“It means a lot to me, and I have been dreaming about this for a long time,” states Fuentes. “I will be joining the team as a PO (pitcher only).”

 

His interest in baseball started at the young age of three. He has put in hours of practice and played many games from elementary to high school. His commitment and passion for baseball has led him to the next phase of his life. Tony is excited to have the opportunity to continue playing the sport that he loves so much at the collegiate level.

 

Tony will be concentrating his academic efforts in earning a degree in business. He would like to eventually open his own baseball facility to train young athletes to play baseball.

 

He is the son of Lucio Fuentes, III and Bea Fuentes. Tony along with his family are extremely grateful for the support and guidance that his coaches have provided him throughout his baseball career.
