Mission CISD athletes bring home some track and field bling

Mission, Texas- Mission CISD athletes competed in the Special Olympics Track and Field State Games in San Antonio, Texas on Friday May 19th and Saturday May 20th. A total of 1,150 athletes from all across the state of Texas showed up to compete. Mission CISD took 8 athletes that met the state competition criteria, and they competed in the following events: 50-meter race, standing long jump, and softball throw. 

 

The prelims competition was on Friday, and it set the stage for the finals round on Saturday. Competition was challenging, as all of the best Special Olympians from across Texas showed up to compete for gold. We are proud of our athletes and the hard work they put in to represent our district. The Mission CISD Special Olympics Staff would like to thank all the parents, administrators, teachers, and support staff for everything they do to make these events possible for our athletes.
