It is a testament to their unwavering efforts and the positive impact they have on our students' lives.”

The CREST Award, an acronym for Counselors Reinforcing Excellence for Students in Texas, serves as a benchmark for counseling programs' continuous improvement. It provides an avenue for schools to demonstrate effective communication, commitment to obtaining results, and implementation of the Texas and National models for school counseling programs.

The CREST evaluation process encompasses five key categories:

  • Introduction to the School and the Role of the Professional School Counselor
  • Program Implementation Cycle
  • Foundational Components
  • Four Service Delivery Components
  • Program Curriculum

"I am incredibly proud and thankful for the dedication and passion exhibited by our counselors. Working through the rigorous evaluation criteria and showcasing the effectiveness of our programs required a collective effort, and their resilience reflects the high standards of excellence we uphold in supporting the academic and personal growth of every student at Mission CISD. Our goal for next year is to have all MCISD schools receive this distinguished award,” says Jesse Trevino, Guidance Counseling Director.

The Mission CISD Department of Guidance and Counseling congratulates all the deserving recipients of the CREST Award. For more information, please visit: http://tsca.txca.org/crest.php
