Mission CISD Walks for Autism at the Wonderful Citrus Run

MISSION, TEXAS (September 16, 2024) - On Saturday, September 14, 2024, Mission
Consolidated Independent School District (CISD) proudly participated in the third annual
Wonderful Citrus Run for Autism. The event featured a 10k, 5k, and Fun Run, all aimed at raising awareness and fostering acceptance for autism within the community.
Hosted by the Rio Grande Juice Company at Bentsen Palm Community Park, the event provided an opportunity for families, educators, and community members to come
together in support of a vital cause. Participants enjoyed a morning of fitness, unity, and
education, all while advocating for individuals with autism and their families.
At the event, Mission CISD was honored to receive a generous donation of $22,515 to further enhance the district's autism programs and promote continued awareness. This
contribution will help Mission CISD expand its support services and educational resources
for students with autism, reinforcing the district's commitment to inclusivity and
understanding.
Mission CISD is grateful to all the participants, sponsors, and volunteers who made this event a success and looks forward to continuing its efforts in autism awareness and education.
