MISSION, TEXAS (September 26, 2024) – In a special ceremony held at the Mission Eagle Theater on September 25, 2024, Mission CISD celebrated the achievements of 31 students who successfully completed their high school credits over the summer. Fourteen of these students proudly walked across the stage to receive their diplomas, marking the culmination of their dedication and perseverance.
The fall commencement ceremony, hosted by Mission CISD, is a tradition that honors students who worked diligently throughout the summer to fulfill the necessary credit requirements, officially making them part of the graduating Class of 2024.
Dr. Cris Valdez, Superintendent of Schools for Mission CISD, addressed the graduates and their families during the ceremony, expressing the district’s pride in their hard-earned success. "Today is such a special day, not only for our students but for their parents and families who have supported them on this journey,” Dr. Valdez said.
“We understand that it takes a group effort to help students succeed. Each of you has demonstrated resilience, determination, and commitment, and we are all incredibly proud of you.”
Dr. Valdez also acknowledged the families, teachers, and staff who played critical roles in supporting these students. "Behind each graduate is a team of people who believed in them, encouraged them, and helped them achieve their dreams. Today, we celebrate not just the students, but the entire community that made this day possible," she added.
While 14 students participated in the in-person ceremony, a total of 31 students from Mission High School and Veterans Memorial High School successfully completed their graduation requirements.
