MOU SIGNING

The Crib to College program is a transformative initiative aimed at creating a seamless educational pipeline for all students, transitioning them from early learning childcare facilities to kindergarten and beyond. By establishing a solid foundation, the program ensures long-term success in their educational journey.

The Mission CISD Crib to College program, in collaboration with Region One ESC, introduces Texas certified Pre-K partnership teachers to the early childcare facilities, where they will deliver Pre-K 3 and Pre-K 4 curriculum.

For the 2024-2025 school year, students enrolled in the Crib to College program will receive half-day instruction at no cost to parents.

The four early childcare facilities currently participating in the pipeline program are:

  • Dreamland Learning Center
  • The Little Club Development Center
  • Kid’s Cottage Child Development Center
  • Kidz First Child Care Center

Expanding Facilities Joining the Program at the MOU are:

  • RGV Learning Institute
  • Gingerbread House Learning Center Montessori
  • A+ Apple Tree Academy
  • Kidz Crusade Children & Pre-K Academy

Other benefits for the Crib to College initiative include:

  • High-quality Pre-K education, designed to give children a smooth and confident transition into kindergarten.
  • Seamless experience with consistent care throughout the school day and before/after school care programs.
  • Convenient hours tailored for working families, offering full-day care that fits their schedule.
  • Aligned curriculum with local schools, ensuring children are well-prepared for their academic future.

FLAG RAISING CEREMONY

A flag raising ceremony will also take place, truly bridging the Crib to College program from start to finish.

The South Texas College Flag Raising Ceremony will serve as a symbolic representation highlighting the shared commitment between the college and Mission CISD to support students from elementary through high school as they pledge to pursue higher education.

“Our gratitude goes out to all the partners who have come together to make the Crib to College initiative a reality,” said Dr. Cris Valdez, Superintendent of Schools for Mission CISD. “This collaboration represents a shared commitment to the success of our children, starting from their earliest years. We are laying the foundation for brighter futures, ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive academically and beyond.”
