Mission High School FFA President Earns State Champion Auctioneer Title

MISSION, TEXAS (JUNE 18, 2025) Mission High School’s Future Farmers of America (FFA) program continues to shine as its president, Benny Garza, brought home top honors at the Texas FFA Auctioneering Career Development Event (CDE) Camp held in Fort Worth, Texas. Competing in the highly competitive Advanced High School Division, Garza was named Champion Auctioneer, standing out among students from across the state.

According to the Texas Department of Agriculture, the Texas FFA Auctioneering CDE Camp is a premier event sponsored by the National Auctioneers Association, Texas FFA Association, and Texas Auctioneers Association. The competition challenges students to demonstrate their skills in bid calling, stage presence, and auctioneering knowledge—skills that require confidence, clarity, and extensive practice.

As Champion, Garza earned several prestigious awards, including a full tuition scholarship to attend the American Auctioneers Academy, where he will further develop his auctioneering skills under the guidance of industry professionals. Additionally, he has secured an all-expense-paid trip to Schaumburg, Illinois, where he will represent Mission CISD at the National Auctioneers Association Conference in July.

“I felt like the odds were against me, because of the more experienced competitors I was facing, I just stayed focused and remembered that when you work hard, good things happen, and it did,” said Garza. “When my name was called, I felt extremely proud to represent Mission High School at this event.”

The district extends its congratulations to Benny Garza as he prepares to take the national stage and represent Mission CISD with pride.
