MISSION, TEXAS (Nov. 14, 2025) – Sunshine, teamwork, and big drives set the tone as Mission CISD celebrated ten years of community partnership through the successful 10th Annual Superintendent’s Golf Tournament benefiting the Education Foundation of Mission CISD.
The event brought together community members, local businesses, and education advocates who share a strong commitment to student success and staff development.
This year’s tournament welcomed more than 18 teams and over 100 participants. Participants enjoyed a day of camaraderie, friendly competition, and meaningful connection centered on a shared dedication to Mission CISD students and educators.
Superintendent of Schools Dr. Cris Valdez shared her appreciation for the Education Foundation of Mission CISD and the strong support it continues to provide.
"The Education Foundation spends countless hours organizing this event and so many others for our district,” said Dr. Cris Valdez, Mission CISD Superintendent of Schools. “They give so much of themselves. They have an automatic ticket to heaven."
Participants took the course at the Shary Municipal Golf Course in Mission. Throughout the event, attendees had the opportunity to engage with district leaders and supporters while contributing to a cause that directly impacts classrooms across the district.
All proceeds from the tournament benefit the Education Foundation of Mission CISD, a nonprofit organization committed to enriching educational experiences and advancing professional growth for educators. Funds raised will support student scholarships, innovative classroom grants, and continuing education opportunities for Mission CISD staff.
Additional highlights from the event included a high-energy performance by the Rafael Cantu Jr. High’s Grupo Herencia De Oro as players prepared to take the course.
Through the continued support of community partners and participants, the Education Foundation remains focused on its mission to empower Mission CISD students and staff to reach their highest potential.
