Building Stronger Connections: Mission CISD brings leaders together to strengthen collaboration

MISSION, TEXAS (JAN. 15, 2026) – Mission Consolidated Independent School District (CISD) reinforced its commitment to collaboration and student success by hosting the Bridging Leadership Pre-Board Workshop Reception on January 14.

The event brought together campus principals and the Board of Trustees for an evening focused on strengthening leadership connections and advancing a shared vision for the district.

According to the Texas Education Agency (TEA), public education serves more than five million students across over 1,200 school districts in Texas, making strong alignment between district leadership and governance essential to student success. The Bridging Leadership Reception served as an opportunity for Mission CISD leaders to engage in meaningful dialogue, build relationships, and align efforts that directly support students at every campus.

By connecting campus principals with trustees in an informal yet purposeful setting, Mission CISD emphasized the importance of unity, communication, and teamwork in driving positive outcomes for students and families.

Board of Trustees President Dolores “Loli” Reyna highlighted the significance of collaborative leadership in shaping the district’s future.

"Tonight is really about connection,” said Reyna. “When our principals, leadership, and Board of Trustees come together, it strengthens the trust and teamwork that guide our district forward. That collaboration is what allows us to support our students every single day.”

Superintendent of Schools at Mission CISD, Dr. Cris King, shared how Bridging Leadership brings district leaders together with a common focus on student success.

"Bridging leadership is really about the people in this room, and we are grateful for each of you,” said King. “It is about coming together across our district with one shared purpose, our students. When we work side by side, we create opportunities that help students succeed and, in many cases, change their lives. That is why we show up every day.”

The evening also featured a special musical performance by the Mission High School award-winning classical guitar ensemble. The district extends its appreciation to the students and their instructor, Marcelino Farias, for enhancing the event.

Mission CISD thanks all principals, Board of Trustees, and staff who participated and contributed to the success of the Bridging Leadership Reception.

The district remains dedicated to fostering strong leadership partnerships that support student achievement and advance excellence throughout the district.
