Entries are divided into three divisions based on the number of students served: under 15,000 students, 15,000 to 40,000 students, and over 40,000 students. Independent judges evaluate and score each entry based on its own merit. Bronze, Silver, and Gold Stars are awarded based on set criteria.
“I am truly grateful to our Mission CISD Board of Trustees, our Superintendent, district leadership, students, and staff for the trust they place in our team every day,” said Dimitra Trejo, Director of Public Relations and Marketing at Mission CISD. “It is an honor to share their stories. Their dedication, openness, and commitment to excellence inspire us, and we are especially proud to highlight the achievements and bright futures of our students.”
At the conference, the Mission CISD Public Relations Department had the opportunity to present to a packed audience during two sessions. The presentations provided valuable insights into professional design techniques and best practices for photography lighting, equipping fellow school communicators with practical tools to elevate their work.
Rolando Garza, Graphic Arts & Media Specialist, focused on the power of intentional design in school communications.
“Presenting at TSPRA was an incredible opportunity to share how strategic design decisions can transform the way we communicate,” Garza said. “My goal was to equip communicators with practical tools rooted in professional design principles.”
In addition to design strategies, the team emphasized the importance of collaboration and continued learning within the profession. Multimedia Journalist, Gerardo Sanchez, reflected on the value of connecting with peers from across the state.
“TSPRA is the one event each year where school public relations teams come together for professional development and to share their experiences and knowledge,” Sanchez said. “Being able to share my experiences and expertise with my peers is incredibly rewarding.”
This recognition highlights the dedication and creativity of the Mission CISD Communications Team in delivering high-quality, engaging content that informs and connects with the community. Congratulations to the team for their continued excellence in school public relations.
