Mission CISD Celebrates Mission Junior High Educator Jesus Razo as Take 5 Teacher Tuesday Recipient

MISSION, TEXAS (March 4, 2026)Mission Consolidated Independent School District proudly congratulates Mission Junior High School educator Jesus Razo for being recognized as a Take 5 Teacher Tuesday recipient. 

Teacher Tuesday is a community recognition segment through Take 5 that highlights outstanding teachers from across the Rio Grande Valley for their dedication, leadership, and impact on students. 

Mr. Razo, a dedicated educator with 16 years of service in Mission CISD, was recognized for the commitment and care he brings to Mission Junior High School, reflecting the excellence of educators across the district. Throughout his career, he has earned several honors, including Campus Teacher of the Year, Regional Teacher of the Year, and recognition through the HEB Excellence in Education Awards. 

Known for his passion for math, Razo works to inspire not only academic success, but also a lifelong love of learning in his students. 

“Mr. Razo is a true example of what it means to be a great and inspiring leader and teacher,” said Jessica Dominguez, Mission Junior High School Principal. “We are proud to celebrate his amazing work and dedication to his students and to our district.” 

Razo said he is grateful for the recognition and remains focused on the reason he serves. 

“I’m humbled and appreciative of this honor,” said Jesus Razo, Mission Junior High School educator. “I do this for the students.” 

Students in his third period class, who took part in the surprise celebration, shared their excitement as he was recognized. 

“Congrats, Mr. Razo!” said his third period class. 

Mission CISD Superintendent Dr. King praised Razo’s recognition and the example he sets for the district’s students and staff. 

“We are incredibly proud of Mr. Razo for this well-deserved recognition,” said Dr. King, Superintendent of Mission CISD. “He represents the heart of Mission CISD through his leadership, dedication, and commitment to students. Honors like this highlight the exceptional educators who make a lasting difference in the lives of our children every day.” 

Mission CISD congratulates Mr. Razo on this special recognition and thanks him for the passion and care he brings to Mission Junior High School and the district community.
