WHAT: 

Shattered Dreams — a realistic motor vehicle safety simulation designed to educate students on the consequences of impaired and distracted driving through a staged crash scene, live emergency response, and student-centered impact presentations.

Tuesday, March 10, 2026 
8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (CT)

EVENT OVERVIEW 

Mission CISD, alongside local law enforcement, first responders, healthcare partners, and community organizations, will host Shattered Dreams—a powerful, immersive safety simulation aimed at preventing impaired and distracted driving. 

Timed ahead of spring break and graduation season, the program delivers a clear message to teens: choices behind the wheel can have life-altering consequences. Students will witness and take part in a staged crash response and participate in follow-up programming that emphasizes prevention, responsibility, and real-world outcomes.

  • Sensitive content: This simulation may include realistic depictions of injury/death and may be emotionally intense. 
  • Check-in required: Media should check in upon arrival and follow staff direction for designated viewing areas and student safety. 
  • Student privacy: Any student interviews/close-ups will be coordinated by the district.
