MISSION, TEXAS (April 30, 2026) – Mission Consolidated Independent School District is proud to announce that Mission High School will host its inaugural Iron Eagle BBQ Showdown, a community-centered event celebrating culinary talent, school spirit, and family fun.
The event will take place Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Mission High School and will feature a full day of BBQ competition, live music performances, and family-friendly activities. Community members, local pitmasters, and cooking enthusiasts are invited to participate or attend this exciting inaugural event.
Participants will compete in a variety of categories that highlight both traditional and regional flavors, including:
- Beef Fajitas
- Pork Ribs
- Chicken
- Pinto Beans
- Pan de Campo
- Peach Cobbler
Event Schedule:
- Friday, May 22, 2026
- Team Set-Up: 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
- Overnight security will be provided to ensure a safe and secure environment
- Gates Open: 5:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2026
- Cooking Begins: 6:00 a.m.
To ensure fairness and integrity in judging, Mission High School will implement a secret double-number system, providing a transparent and unbiased competition process.
