MISSION, Texas (May 1, 2026)— Mission Consolidated Independent School District recognized approximately 135 employees during its annual service awards event, Unmasking Excellence, held Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at the Mission Event Center.
The evening honored around 70 retirees and 65 employees celebrating milestone years of service ranging from 25 to 45 years. With a masquerade theme, the event highlighted the idea that excellence is often found in the everyday dedication of those who serve behind the scenes.
“Tonight is about the people behind the work,” said Superintendent Dr. Cris King. “It’s about recognizing the commitment and care our employees bring to Mission CISD every single day.”
Honorees represented campuses and departments across the district, each playing a role in supporting students and strengthening the Mission CISD community.
“This kind of impact doesn’t always happen in the spotlight,” King said. “It happens through years of showing up, supporting one another, and doing what’s best for our students.”
A special recognition was given to retirees, whose years of service have helped shape the district for generations.
“To our retirees, thank you for everything you’ve given to this district,” King said. “Your work will continue to make a difference long after today.”
Mission CISD extends its congratulations and appreciation to all honorees for their dedication and lasting impact.
