MISSION, TEXAS (MAY 19, 2026) – Mission Consolidated Independent School District seniors are taking the next mission toward bright futures across higher education, military service, and the workforce. From prestigious universities across Texas and the U.S. to skilled trades and military careers, Mission CISD’s Class of 2026 is proving that success comes in many forms.
On May 14 and 15, Mission High School, Veterans Memorial High School, and Mission Collegiate High School celebrated College Decision Day 2026 with special ceremonies recognizing graduating seniors for their postsecondary plans. The events honored students who have committed to colleges and universities, enlisted in the military, or are entering the workforce with industry certifications and career-ready skills.
Campuses were filled with balloons, college banners, posters, and school spirit as proud parents, teachers, counselors, administrators, and classmates gathered to celebrate the accomplishments of the graduating seniors.
Among the many colleges and universities Mission CISD students will attend this fall are the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, the University of Texas at San Antonio, St. Edward’s University, Baylor University, Texas A&M University, Texas State University, the University of Houston, South Texas College, and the University of Texas at Austin, among others.
The ceremonies also highlighted students who have chosen to serve their country through military enlistment, as well as graduates who are beginning careers immediately after high school through Career and Technical Education pathways.
Many students earned certifications and hands-on experience in programs such as welding, fire science, cosmetology, nursing, and other high-demand career fields, preparing them to enter the workforce with valuable skills and opportunities.
Mission CISD Superintendent of Schools Dr. Cris King emphasized the importance of ensuring every student leaves high school with a clear direction for the future.
“We need to make sure every senior leaving our Mission CISD high schools has a plan for what comes next,” said King. “Whether that plan is college, the workforce, or military service, our goal is for every student to graduate with purpose and direction. We want to know what Chapter 13 looks like for each of our students as they begin the next mission of their lives.”
Mission CISD remains committed to preparing every student for success beyond graduation by providing meaningful academic opportunities, career training, and pathways to higher education and workforce readiness.
Congratulations to the Mission CISD Class of 2026 on this exciting milestone and the bright futures ahead.
