MISSION, TEXAS - Veterans Memorial High School announces its Top 3 Students for the Class of 2026. This year Hallen Lenguyen has been named valedictorian, Isabella Angelique Canizalez is the salutatorian, and Victoria Mya Solis is the third-ranking student. Congratulations to these students and the Class of 2026 for all their educational accomplishments.
Hallen Lenguyen
Veterans Memorial High School proudly announces Hallen Lenguyen as the Class of 2026 Valedictorian. She is the daughter of Hanh Nguyen. Lenguyen will attend The University of Texas at Austin, where she plans to pursue a degree in Neuroscience with the goal of becoming a neurologist.
This summer, Lenguyen plans to spend time resting, preparing for her transition to university life, and traveling to Japan with her family. When asked what she is most excited about in college, Lenguyen shared that she looks forward to the many diverse opportunities and the chance to meet new people.
During her high school career, Lenguyen demonstrated exceptional dedication to academics, leadership, and service. She participated in numerous organizations and activities, including:
- UIL Calculator Applications and Mathematics
- SkillsUSA
- HOSA
- National Honor Society Parliamentarian
Her accomplishments have been recognized through several honors and awards, including:
- Excellence and Presidential awards from various institutions
- AP Scholar recognition
- Multiple extracurricular achievement awards
Lenguyen also shared words of encouragement for future seniors:
“Your senior year will likely be both the fastest and most memorable period of your academic career. While moments of frustration may tempt you to give in to exhaustion, remain resilient, because the culmination of your efforts will undoubtedly be rewarding.”
Isabella Angelique Canizalez
Veterans Memorial High School proudly announces Isabella Angelique Canizalez as the Class of 2026 Salutatorian. She is the daughter of Jose and Claudia Canizalez.
Canizalez will attend The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, where she plans to pursue a degree in Biology with the goal of becoming an anesthesiologist.
This summer, Canizalez plans to focus on securing the financial resources necessary to support her collegiate studies.
When asked what she is most looking forward to in college, Canizalez shared that she is excited for the opportunity to gain greater independence and begin her journey into adulthood.
Throughout high school, Canizalez remained actively involved in both academic and extracurricular activities, demonstrating strong leadership and dedication through participation in:
- Varsity Basketball
- Varsity Volleyball
- Student Council
- Junior Class Treasurer
- Student Council Representative for National Honor Society
- Varsity Track
- HST Club
- HOSA Treasurer
Canizalez has also earned the Presidential Scholarship at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.
She offers the following words of encouragement to next year’s seniors:
“Always maintain faith in your unique capabilities and never doubt yourself.”
Victoria Mya Solis
Veterans Memorial High School proudly announces Victoria Mya Solis as the third-ranking student of the Class of 2026. She is the daughter of Amanda Solis and Ricardo Solis.
This fall, Solis will attend Texas A&M University, where she plans to pursue a degree in Public Health. Her ultimate goal is to become a Physician Assistant.
Solis looks forward to spending time with family and friends this summer before beginning her college journey. She is especially excited about meeting new people and experiencing independent college life with her roommates.
During her time at Veterans Memorial High School, Solis maintained a rigorous academic schedule while remaining actively involved in numerous organizations and activities, including Junior Class, Senior Class, BPA, NHS, HST, Cheer, Tennis, and DI, among others.
Her academic accomplishments also earned her recognition as a Century Scholar for Texas A&M University.
When asked what advice she would give to next year’s seniors, Solis shared:
“Always be yourself and keep your true friends close because, in the end, they are the ones who will stand by your side. Enjoy every moment, and don’t let others’ opinions influence your choices.”
