Mission CISD to serve up free summer meals for local children

MISSION, TEXAS (MAY 25, 2026) — This summer, the Mission CISD Child Nutrition Program will help ensure local children have access to free healthy meals while school is out.

Mission CISD will provide free summer meals to children 18 and younger, as well as enrolled students with disabilities up to 21 years old. Meals will be available at no cost, and families do not need to apply, register, or provide identification to participate.

The program is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, through its Summer Meals Program, which includes the Summer Food Service Program and the Seamless Summer Option. In Texas, the Seamless Summer Option is administered by the Texas Department of Agriculture.

The Mission CISD Child Nutrition Program is proud to support students and families by providing nutritious meals to the community throughout the summer months.

You may find participating campuses, locations, and times on our website at:

Children need good nutrition year-round so they can learn, grow and succeed in life. Families are encouraged to use these three tools to find a meal site anywhere in the state:

  • Call 2-1-1 to speak to a live operator
  • Visit www.SummerFood.org for an interactive site locator map
  • Text FOOD or COMIDA to 304-304

Summer meal sites help children succeed by providing the nourishment they need to return to school in the fall ready to thrive.

This institution is an equal opportunity provider.
