MISSION, Texas (July 23, 2026) — Mission Consolidated Independent School District’s Purchasing Department has earned the 2026 Achievement of Excellence in Procurement® Award, marking the fourth year the district has received the national recognition.
Presented by the National Procurement Institute, the award recognizes public and nonprofit organizations that demonstrate excellence in innovation, professionalism, productivity, leadership and e-procurement practices.
National Recognition for Procurement Excellence
Mission CISD is among 251 public and nonprofit agencies recognized with the 2026 award. The National Procurement Institute received a record 269 applications from agencies representing 28 states and Canada.
The rigorous evaluation process examines how procurement departments improve operations, embrace innovation and maintain high professional standards while supporting their organizations and the communities they serve.
“This prestigious recognition honors your organization’s dedication to procurement excellence and reflects your commitment to innovation, professionalism, e-procurement, productivity and leadership,” the National Procurement Institute wrote in its award notification to the district.
One of Two South Texas School Districts Honored
Mission CISD Purchasing Coordinator Anabel Garza said the district is one of only two school districts in South Texas to receive the national award in 2026.
Receiving the award for a fourth year reflects the department’s continued commitment to responsible purchasing practices, operational efficiency, and accountability.
The Purchasing Department also receives a TASBO award annually, further demonstrating its consistent focus on professional standards and continuous improvement.
Supporting Mission CISD Through Leadership and Accountability
The Purchasing Department plays an important role in district operations by helping campuses and departments acquire the goods and services needed to support students and staff while following established procurement requirements.
Through careful planning, technology, collaboration and responsible stewardship of district resources, the department helps ensure Mission CISD operates efficiently and remains focused on providing excellent service to its schools.
